Manchester United Women's head coach Marc Skinner says he is absolutely convinced of the fantastic place the women's team has at the club. Skinner was speaking in response to minority co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe's comments made to the BBC that the women's team is much smaller than the men's team. Sir Jim Ratcliffe stated that of the club's £650million of income, £640m comes from the men's team and £10m comes from the women's team. Despite this, Skinner feels the support every single day and believes the women's team has a really fantastic place pushing forward with the club. The team's current position in the Women's Super League is second, with their next match against Liverpool at Anfield on Friday. Skinner also expressed his desire to stay at the club beyond his current contract, which expires at the end of the season, citing unfinished business. He signed a one-year contract extension with an option for an additional year in May. The club has until the end of March to activate the option to extend his contract by a further season. Skinner's energy has changed in a totally positive direction, where it's all about driving the club forwards. He wants to take the club and the team, which he has designed and built, to the next level. The team has the DNA of Manchester United in the making, a real famous Manchester United team. Skinner's commitment to the club is evident, and he wants to make sure the fans and everybody know that he has that complete energy. Manchester United Women's performance in the Women's Super League has been impressive, and Skinner's leadership has been a key factor in their success. The club's senior leadership, including Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox, and Colette Roche, has been supportive of Skinner and the women's team. The women's team wears the Manchester United brand, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe acknowledges that they are every bit as important as the men's team. In fact, he stated that the women's team is frankly doing better than the men's team. Skinner's focus is on winning games of football, and he is confident that the team can continue to succeed. With the support of the club and the senior leadership, Manchester United Women's future looks bright.
