The match took place as part of the group stage, where the Red Devils had already won their opening game against West Ham United. Melvine Malard opened the scoring early, driving through the Villa defense to find the back of the net. Julia Zigiotti and Gabby George also came close to extending the lead in the first half. Just before halftime, Anna Sandberg doubled the advantage, converting a cross from Gabby George. In the second half, United continued their offensive display, with Millie Turner scoring after a well-worked team move.
